Candice Williamson

Team med res 2544My name is Candice Williamson (nee Jonsson) and I am a person who is passionate about learning and development.

I started swimming at the age of 2 and swam competitively throughout primary school where I swam my first Midmar mile at the age of 12 in 28 minutes and participated in the Lower South Coast Swim Trials for breaststroke. I continued to swim competitively for Parktown High School for Girls. I went on to study accounting at RAU and I qualified as a CA(SA) in 2007 after completing my articles and board exams through Deloitte.

Sarah Groenewald

Sarah GrownewaldMy name is Sarah Groenewald (nee Jonsson) and I have always had a love for the water. I started my swimming career at the age of 2 and have enjoyed many achievements since then, from breaking my first school backstroke record to swimming my first Midmar mile at the age of 10 in 30 minutes. I swam competitively for Parktown High School for Girls where I obtained my half colours in swimming.

After school, I qualified in sports massage and aromatherapy. By chance one of my massage clients asked me if I was able to correct her daughter's stroke so she could take part in her school galas and her husband wanted to learn to swim. This is where my swimming teaching and coaching career began.

Craig Groenewald

Team med res 2360My name is Craig Groenewald and I am a Paralympian. I have held as many as 7 world records at one time. During my career I have broken 18 world records. I am currently highly ranked in the world in the 400m, 200m, 100m and 50m Freestyle, 100m and 50m Butterfly and 200m and 400m Individual Medley. I have attended two Paralympic Games and have medalled at both these events. I currently hold 13 South African records.

Nonkululeko Mngadi

IMG 8606 LargeMy name is Nonkululeko Mngadi. I began swimming at a very tender age of five and competed in numerous Level 1 galas.

My passion for teaching started when I joined the Learn to Swim (LTS) outreach programme coordinated by Central Gauteng Aquatics (CGA) in partnership with Swimming South Africa (SSA). Within the programme I dealt with physically challenged learners from different schools which made a huge impact in my life and how I view certain things. Working with kids brought me so much joy and passion for the sport simply because they are always eager to learn and their enthusiasm is very contagious.
