Enclosing the Pool December 2015

The start of an adventure

Sarah’s Swim Academy has been something Candice and I have been talking about for a long time. In July 2015, Candice finally left her corporate job and we started working on creating the ultimate swim school. We wanted to do things differently, giving control and flexibility to parents and swimmers while offering quality lessons to our clients.

Once we had an idea of how the academy would work we contacted 4 primary schools in our area and the only school to respond was our current partner, Craighall Primary School. We presented to the headmistress and she then gave us an opening at the governing body meeting. Here we presented our dream. The governing body was receptive to our idea and we entered into negotiations regarding our relationship with Craighall Primary.

By September 2015, we came to an agreement with Craighall Primary and renovations started in November 2015.

There has been a lot of planning around what structure needs to be erected and how we go about enclosing the pool. We decided to erect a steel structure with drop down blinds which can be rolled when Craighall Primary hosts galas, this enables parents to watch their children compete in galas with no interference of an enclosed pool.

Once the pool enclosure is complete then the heat pumps will be switched on to ensure a warm pool for Craighall Primary and Sarah's Swim Academy.

The contractors seem to be running on schedule and will be finished before the end of December 2015.
